My life changed when I started doing things God's way. I spent years asking God to bless my path, instead of trying to get on His path for me. I prayed for abundance and prosperity, knowing that God was the “lamp to my feet and a light for my path (Psalm 119:105) but I didn’t take responsibility for my part of cooperating with His plans. An invitation for you... Introduction Hi. My name is Wendy, and I'm a Recovering Type A. I’ve been a control-freak, perfectionist, workaholic, and over-achiever approximately since birth. I was a private equity investment banker in New York City and the youngest one to ever make the executive team. After my first encounter with God, (more on this in Chapter 12) I continued to pursue my Type A agenda with only slight lifestyle modifications. In fact, my life became increasingly glamorous outwardly but unfortunately, it grew increasingly hollow inwardly. That is, until I finally listened to what God had been trying to tell me for quite some time. (More on this in Chapter 4.) By God’s grace, my life has changed. I have gone through a complete metamorphosis and I now have fulfillment, love, joy, peace, and wisdom – abundant life and purpose – that I have never had before. (More on this in Chapter 15.) The purpose of this book is to encourage you on your own journey so that you, too, can experience this kind of transformation and satisfaction. Depending on where you are in life right now, you may prefer certain sections of this book over others. For some of you, Section One (written from a Type A perspective) will feel like you are talking to yourself, while for others of you, it will be intense and exasperating. Section Two could make almost anyone uncomfortable because it exposes the err of a lot of our thinking, Type A or not. For some of you, Section Three may be what you have been seeking for some time, while for others of you, it may feel awkward and impractical. For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed -a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." - Romans 1:16-17 Beloved on Account of the Patriarchs God brought salvation to Israel and the world through the Jewish people in the person of Yeshua (which is Jesus' Hebrew name.) We believe the salvation of the Jewish people through faith in Yeshua the Messiah is still the heartbeat and purpose of God. In spite of the fact that Jews have historically, for the most part, hardened their hearts to the good news of Yeshua, they are still beloved of God on account of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Their hardened hearts are softening like never before, as the fullness of the Gentiles comes to faith in the God of Israel. Even so, until Jerusalem calls out, "Baruch haba b'shem Adonai," (blessed be the one who comes in the name of the Lord) to Yeshua as their Lord and King, He will not return to usher any of us into eternal life in the world to come. Therefore, wherever we go, in every nation God sends us to all over the world, we seek out, find, and reach out to the Jewish people living there. We share with them the way of salvation through faith in Yeshua their Messiah and encourage them to return home to the land of Israel, as promised to their ancestors. We create and distribute various resources to synagogues, rabbis, and Jewish individuals so that even if they reject the message in person or publically, they can study in private and come to know the truth. We also raise awareness and train the local Church about the Jewishness of Jesus, God's love for His people, and His redemptive plan for their salvation. Out of gratitude for our salvation and earnest desire to see all Jewish people come to faith in Yeshua, we do our best to remove every unnecessary hindrance to their faith in Yeshua. This includes aligning ourselves to observe the Biblical Calendar and God's appointed times and feasts rather than the Church's substitutions and the traditions of men which have caused much confusion through their departure from Biblical truth. (No short shorts please .) Skirts/Dresses : Women may wear dresses and skirts that hang to the knee or below the knee. (Anything shorter must be worn over pants or leggings.) Tops/Shirts : Men and women must wear tops that cover their shoulders and midriff. (No tank tops or spaghetti straps.) Tights/Leggings : If worn, must be covered with a top that covers the buttocks and/or reaches to the mid-thigh. Fitness/Exercise Clothes : Must comply with the requirements above, including running shorts and exercise leggings. Piercings : We reserve the right to ask for piercings to be removed or covered, except for ear piercings on women. Sleepwear : If staying overnight with us, please bring sleepwear that is conservative and not overly revealing.
