Melissa Halstead grew up in what she thought was a normal household and family, until it turned out that it wasn’t. Suffering abuse from her stepfather and grandfather, under the care of a mother who wasn’t able to cope, and a brother who avoided the scene as much as possible, she didn’t know where to turn for help. Then, with the guidance of her beloved Granny, she found faith in Jesus. However, headstrong and stubborn, she fell into the snare of what she thought was normal and wound up in an abusive marriage with two children by the age of seventeen. But, when she finally surrendered and submitted to Christ, everything changed.
